Accommodation for wedding guests in Bratislava is something organisers usually deal with somewhere between choosing the venue and choosing the menu, and that is exactly why it is where the biggest mistakes happen: guests get three different addresses, half of them turn up before check-in and nobody knows how they will get home after midnight. This plan is written for whoever is organising the wedding and wants the guests split across a few apartments, with clear arrival times and no last-minute improvising. All the apartment details come from their own pages. We have left prices out because they change with the dates, and you will find them in the calendar on each apartment's page.

How Many Apartments You Need and Who Sleeps with Whom
Start with the number of beds, not the number of guests. According to their pages, the four-person apartments SADBA, LUCAO, BAGRA and CASTE each have one large double bed and a sofa bed for two, so four guests means two couples or two male and two female friends, not four people who barely know each other.
| Apartment | Address | Capacity | Floor area | Parking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SADBA | Ivánska cesta 32K | 1 to 4 guests | 40 m² | guarded complex behind a barrier, free |
| LUCAO | Pri Hrubej Lúke 1 | 1 to 4 guests | 55 m² | public car park by the building, spaces not reserved |
| BAGRA | Bagarova 5 | 1 to 4 guests | 65 m² | public street parking in front of the building, free |
| CASTE | Zámocká 3, below the castle | 1 to 4 guests | 55 m² | own garage in the building, free |
| FIAOR | Fialová 4 | 1 to 2 guests | 35 m² | private space at the building's exit, free |
| BRIS | Prístavná 1 | 1 to 2 guests | 40 m² | reserved space P03 in front of the building, free |
| ROVAO | Hlavná 164B, Rovinka | 1 to 2 guests | 17 m² | space P1 in the underground garage, included in the price |
Together, all seven apartments sleep 22 people at most, but on any given weekend only some of them will be free, so for a larger wedding plan on two to four apartments rather than all of them at once. BRIS, FIAOR and ROVAO are for two people, which makes them a good fit for couples who want some privacy.
When splitting up the guests, it is worth keeping three things in mind:
- Older guests and stairs. According to their pages, SADBA, LUCAO, CASTE, BRIS and FIAOR have a lift, whereas at BAGRA you take the lift to the 6th floor and then walk down a flight of stairs to a half landing, so do not offer it to guests who struggle with stairs.
- Families with small children. Put them in the apartment closest to the ceremony venue so they can leave early when the children get tired.
- Guests without a car. Getting back at night is harder from an apartment outside the centre than from one in the centre, and this applies above all to ROVAO in Rovinka, where night services may not run every day.
If what you are planning is more of a celebration for a big group of friends or two families, also take a look at the articles on a weekend with friends and a stay for two families, which go into more detail on splitting the costs.
When to Book and How to Hold Your Dates
You often know the wedding date a year ahead, so there is no point waiting for the guest list. Check the availability overview or the calendar on a particular apartment's page as soon as you have the date, and for the apartments you like, check the minimum number of nights too. Guests travelling from further away usually arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday, so a Saturday ceremony means two nights.
According to the apartment pages, a booking is paid online by card when it is made, and the full price of the stay is charged, while an unpaid booking is cancelled automatically. Your dates are only held once the booking is paid, so agree on one of two approaches:
- The organiser pays. They book all the apartments themselves and settle up with the guests after the wedding, which gives them full control over both the dates and the number of people.
- Each guest pays for themselves. The organiser sends them a link to a specific apartment and the exact dates, but runs the risk that someone books a different night or an apartment that has been taken in the meantime.
Read the cancellation terms for the apartment before paying and send them to your guests along with the link. Weddings do get moved now and then, and nobody wants to discover, when the date changes, that their booking can no longer be cancelled.
Group Check-in: Times, ID and Keys
The apartments run without a reception desk: on the day of arrival you receive a message with a link to the guest page, where you upload an identity document and verify your identity, and only then are the key access details shown. Online check-in is a legal requirement, so every guest staying must complete it, not just the person the booking is under.[3] You will find the whole process in detail in the article Self Check-in: How It Works and on the Self check-in page.
At a wedding, two times most often clash: the ceremony is usually in the afternoon, while check-in is from 3 p.m. The table shows what needs sorting out at each point.
| Situation | Time | What to do in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Guests arrive before the ceremony | before 3 p.m. | arrange an earlier check-in (by agreement, for an extra fee, depending on occupancy) or sort out the luggage |
| Standard check-in | from 3 p.m., also at night | every guest has their ID and a charged phone for online verification |
| Getting back after the reception | after midnight | app-based taxi or a night bus; check-in should already be done during the day |
| Departure | by 10 a.m. | a later check-out can be arranged, again for an extra fee and depending on occupancy |
Checking out by 10 a.m. after a long reception is a reality you need to plan for, so tell your guests before they pick which night bus to take. For the hours between arrival and 3 p.m., the article on luggage before check-in helps, showing what you can fit in with or without your suitcases.
Transport After the Ceremony and Getting Back from the Reception
Bratislava's night transport has twenty lines marked with the letter N and runs every day from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The lines leave the Main Railway Station together in waves at 11:30 p.m., midnight, 12:30 a.m., 1:30 a.m., 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., so after 12:30 a.m. the next wave is a full hour later.[1] All night bus stops are request stops, which often surprises guests using them for the first time, and the fare is the same as during the day.[2]
For a group in formal wear a taxi is usually more practical, but one car normally takes four people, so for ten guests order three vehicles, and preferably in waves rather than all at once. The apps, the differences between them and the airport are covered in the article on taxis, Bolt and Uber in Bratislava, which also explains why it pays to have at least two installed. How arriving at night works is described in the article Arriving Late in Bratislava.
If some guests come by car, check the table above to see where each apartment parks. At LUCAO you park in a public car park with no reserved spaces, and at BAGRA the spaces marked with a number or the letter X are private, so guests must not use them. You will find more about parking in the city in the article Parking in Bratislava.
What an Apartment Is Not: Afterparties and Extra Guests
The house rules in all our apartments say the same thing: quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and unregistered guests and parties are not allowed. The apartment is a place to sleep and rest after the reception, not to carry it on, and the organiser should tell guests so before someone with a bottle in hand decides to invite five people up "for just one drink".
The practical consequence is this: if the celebration goes on past midnight, plan it at a venue intended for that, and have guests return to the apartments only to sleep. Only people named on the booking who have completed online check-in may stay overnight, so a relative who wants to "just crash on the sofa" has to be included in the booking and fit within the apartment's capacity.
A Sample Plan for 14 Guests and a Checklist for the Organiser
This is how fourteen guests could be split up if four apartments are free. It is only an example, not an offer, because actual availability depends on the calendar for your dates.
| Apartment | Number of guests | Who |
|---|---|---|
| SADBA | 4 | two couples from one side of the family |
| LUCAO | 4 | two couples of friends |
| CASTE | 4 | guests who want to be close to the centre |
| FIAOR | 2 | one couple who want privacy |
| Total | 14 | four apartments, four parking spaces or garages |
Once the split is done, send each guest a single message with everything they need. You can copy this checklist:
- The exact arrival and departure dates and the name of the apartment with a link to its page.
- A note that every guest staying completes online check-in and needs an ID card or passport.
- The ceremony time compared with check-in from 3 p.m., and the agreed earlier arrival if one is needed.
- How to get back after the reception: app-based taxi, an N night bus or transport you have arranged in advance.
- The rule that parties and unregistered guests are not allowed in the apartment and that quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Check-out by 10 a.m. and the contact details of the organiser, whom guests can turn to if the plan changes.
One message like this saves the organiser dozens of questions in the week before the wedding, and saves guests surprises at a reception desk that does not exist here at all. If you want to get to know the apartments before you choose, the checklist for choosing an apartment will help too.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How many wedding guests can your apartments take?
The four-person apartments SADBA, LUCAO, BAGRA and CASTE sleep four guests each, while FIAOR, BRIS and ROVAO sleep two each. That makes 22 people at most, but only if every apartment is free on the same dates, so check availability in each apartment's calendar.
Can guests arrive before the 3 p.m. check-in?
Check-in is from 3 p.m. An earlier arrival can be arranged in advance for an extra fee, depending on whether the apartment is occupied on that date, so mention it when you book or as early as possible before arrival.
Can we hold a wedding afterparty in the apartment?
No. The house rules in all our apartments forbid parties and unregistered guests, and quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The apartment is for sleeping, so plan the celebration at a venue meant for it.
Does every guest have to complete online check-in?
Yes, every guest staying in the apartment must complete online check-in with a valid ID card or passport. The law requires us to keep a guest register and to verify the identity of foreign nationals, and the access details are not shown until check-in is complete.
How do guests get into the apartment after midnight?
Check-in is possible at any time, including at night, and guests receive the access details once online check-in is complete. They can get home by app-based taxi or on the N night lines, which run in Bratislava from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. at the standard fare.
Conclusion
Wedding guest accommodation is best handled as a small project with a single list: who sleeps where, when they arrive, how they get home and what the apartment does not allow. Once you have the guests split up and one message for everyone, the wedding weekend runs without needless phone calls. Take a look at all eight apartments, check availability and pick the ones that suit your group.
